2008-11-05 - 8:21 a.m. So I have to vent on some horse stuff... I just recently got a stallion directory from a VERY prominent and credible magazine. It's always as thick as a bible and chock full of super nice horses. I have to say it's like a JC Penny catalog before Christmas. Now imagine getting your treasured catalog and seeing nothing that you really wanted, a bunch of crap. There where some nice horses listed but nothing that I would just drool over. It was pretty sad. The horse industry like I have mentioned before has taken a dive in this economy along with the position that the government has taken on horse slaughter. You would think that this would push people harder to produce a quality product and breed quality animals. Maybe I'm barn blind too, but we have taken big strides to improve our breeding program. I can see why "consumers" are complaining that there aren't many quality horses to choose from. Who wants a weiner gutted reiner with floppy ears or any of his ugly progeny. gag...
